TMJ or <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>Temporomandibular Joint syndrome<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> is a collective term for disorders or problems related to the surrounding parts of the jaw, muscles and the temporomandibular joint. <\/span><\/span><\/span>This joint connects your skull <\/span><\/span>to your lower jaw, which forms a triangular shaped area underneath your ear.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Symptoms of TMJ syndrome include chronic neck, head, face, and ear pain. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Limited jaw movements are also one of the symptoms of TMJ, which leads to problems with sleeping and eating. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Some of the common causes of TMJ syndrome include teeth grinding or bruxism, jaw, neck or head injury, stress, incorrect posture, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, displacement of the disc (or soft cushion between the ball and socket), autoimmune disease, and sometimes even orthodontic treatment.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
